Duration of Training : 2 weeks

Overall Grade : B
Difficulty of Training : 3/5
Comments : During the 2 weeks we dismantled cleaned and reassembled the M9 service pistol, the M16A3 service rifle, the M14, the M500 shotgun, the M240Bravo machine gun, and the M2 .50 caliber machine gun.  We went and fired the M9, M16, M240B, and .50 in the FATS simulator, which is a laser simulated firing range, in side the Gunners mate's school.  We also went to a torpedo lab were we fired air slugs, which are very fun since we could see them shoot out of the torpedo tube and it shacks the whole building when they are fired, and we also got to load a torpedo into the torpedo tube which is a time consuming, but fun process.  On the final day of training we went to the FBI's training facility in Chicago were we learned about what the FBI really does in support of our country.  We also got a chance to take a look at some of the weapons that the agents had brought in that day that they use when they go into the field.  If you like weapons and learning about them then this is an excellent training to go to.

Duration of Training : 1 week

Comments :This was my second Leadership Academy. The classes were short but we learned a lot. The CO made the training fun by taking us on several field trips. We went on a tour of the USS Wisconsin and to a war simulator area. It was a long walk from the barracks to the chow hall, but we didn't mind. The barracks were really nice and comfortable. Be prepared to have a uniform and locker inspection. Overall, this training was really fun.

Name of Training : NLCC  P.O.L.A
Training Location : Norfolk, Virginia
Year of Training : Summer, 2009
Duration of Training : one week
Would recommend?? : Yes
Overall Grade : B-
Difficulty of Training : 2/5
Comments : This was the strangest the trainings I have been to, yet one of the most fun. The strange thing is that there was a nap time for some reason, or like a recreational sort of period, and it was very loose. We also went to different places to eat, such as Subway, CiCi's Pizza, and we had PT only 2 of the 7 days of our stay. We also had a lot of study time periods and some team building excercises. The swimming pool and the food periods were where we could talk ( we lost privileges because some people talked A LOT). I recommend this training because it was fun. :)

Comments : No pt and food was bad. It was boring most of the time and lots of classes. I did meet some new friends.

Trainee : Lorenzo Gari
Name of Training : League Cadet MAA training
Training Location : Melbourne, Florida
Year of Training : Summer, 2009
Duration of Training : one week
Would recommend : Yes
Overall Grade : B-
Difficulty of Training : 2/5
Comments : I would recommend this training or League Cadets because it is a lot of fun and provides an opportunity to learn about what an MAA means. It teaches a cadet about squaring away his bunk, and his living area, and also you get to travel around the city, such as going to the City Court House, visit the Police Station, and Bomb Squad. A member of the Forensics team visits and you learn about how they "lift" Fingerprints. You learn about history and the 5 types of governments, and which ones are successful.
So at this training you have fun and learn a lot of information which is why I recommend this training :-)

Duration of Training : 1 week
Would recommend?? : yes
Overall Grade : A

Comments : POLA was a great training, very academic. At POLA they taught you how to lead, then let you try your leadership skills. They let everyone lead at least one part of PT. Also, everyone led the company in marching.

Year of Training : summer 2009
Duration of Training : 1 week
Would recommend?? : yes
Overall Grade : B
Difficulty of Training : 3/5
Comments : A lot of fun but lots of marching. We learned how to clear rooms, read a map and other military tactics. We didn't do any PT. It was cold in the morning when we got up which was 6:00am and we went to bed at 10:00pm. The food was excellent and one night we even ate MREs. Be prepared to deal with the cows, turkeys, and deer.

Comments : This training was great. The lessons and skills taught couldn't have been better. The staff were very experienced and also great leaders which helped me understand the concepts being taught. In this training the Sea Cadets and League Cadets were put in the same classes and were given the same requirements. PT was easy but the surroundings were hard to work with. The barracks were great and comfortable. The food was good as well.
