Trainee First Name : Luke
Trainee Last Name : Han
Name of Training Attended : RECRUIT TRAINING NSCC
NLCC or NSCC : NSCC - Sea Cadet
Training Location : Keystone Heights, FL
Date Attended : 12/26/2016
Duration of Training: : 2 Weeks
Would you Recommend?? : A Great Training, I would do it again
Difficulty of Training : Super Easy
Comments : The training was well prepared overall. The classes were taught very well and included those that have served in the military previously, so they answered whatever questions we had. The staff were also very considerate. We were able voice our suggestions and they followed most of our suggestions. The last few days were more relaxed, as we had a field day full of sports and teamwork exercises. The food was also well prepared. Overall, I would really recommend this training.

NLCC or NSCC : NSCC - Sea Cadet
Training Location : Belle Glade, Florida
Date Attended : 06/13/2015
Duration of Training: : 2 Weeks
Would you Recommend?? : I think it could have been better
Difficulty of Training : A Good Challenge
Comments : Overall, the training was great, I learned thing that will help me out the rest of my Sea Cadet life. I honestly think it could have been better, maybe add a little more fun would have made the experience way better, we did do fun things like watch the Battleship movie and things like that. The PT was not super hard, you just have to be fit before you come here. The classes were in my opinion too based off the books, what I mean by this is that the teaching staff would just read whats off the board, it would be nice if they could try to eliminate that so it not only is as boring as just sitting there and reading (about half the cadets would fall asleep here), but it would also make the staff look like they know what they are doing. Getting along with others is a thing you have to do, if you don't, then you will have a tough time at this training. I was expecting it to be harder, but the Navy now regulates the staff and how hard they are on the cadets now, which I honestly wouldn't care if they were harder on you or not.

Duration of Training: : 1 Week
Would you Recommend?? : A Great Training, I would do it again
Difficulty of Training : Easy
Comments : This RT was different than others, in a good way. Thanks to USN, we were under new rules for example we didn't have to square our meals and we had at least 8 hours of sleep. Some days we had PT twice a day but we mostly had PT in the morning. Of course we had to wake up at 0430 and do PT every morning. But it was very fun for example there was a little competition between Foxtrot (honor company;best company ever) and Delta. Shout out to PO Gonzalez; Delta DC, PO Lagman; Foxtrot DC and PO Green the ALPO of RT. And many others, the staff cadets were really chill and funny especially during the roast on the last day. The main challenge was not to pass out during close order drill because of the extreme heat but we had it three times a day. I had tons of fun. I would totally recommend this to anyone and I believe you should do this training ASAP because its one of the easiest training you could do. Just be prepared to make tons of new friends from all over (different states, divisions and even Puerto Rico) and having to say bye at the end but you will probably stay in touch and see them in a different training. I had a Fantastic time if you have any questions see you in August.

Comments : This RT was different. It was under the new rules of the USNSCC thanks to the USN, PT is twice a day usually once in the morning and once in the afternoon. You wake up at around 0400 and to be honest its not that bad, you get 8 hrs of sleep every night, you dont have too square your meals, also the PT test was easy and so was the final exam. They actually gave us the answers of the test to study for the exam, the staff cadets were really chill and funny, shout out to PO Green who was the ALPO for this RT. To me I think everyone should just do the training ASAP because it's one of the easiest things I could do, To be honest the hardest thing to do there would be to not pass out because of the extreme heat but close order drill is only three hours everyday and its split into 3 different times. I had a great time.

Comments : I would highly recommend this training for any cadet who is in their first year as a sea cadet. Yes you did have to wake-up at 4 a.m., but that was the easy part. You were kept very busy so, missing home after the first day became easier because of all the different activities you were involved in. We did have fun, but also worked hard and most of all learned so much!

Would you Recommend?? : I had fun and learned a lot
Difficulty of Training : A Good Challenge
Comments : Throughout the duration of the training, the recruits were constantly being challenged with PT, dril, and early reveillie. The food was not great but that is to be expected at RT. Unfortunately, the Petty Officers were unable to PT the cadets as much as I would have liked. However, they worked hard to maintain the standards of a proper RT. The staff were very informative and reliable.

Training Location : United States
Date Attended : 06/10/2012
Duration of Training: : 2 Weeks
Would you Recomend?? : A Great Training, I would do it again
Difficulty of Training : A Little Tough
Comments : As the LPO of this RT I was the one that had to make sure everything ran smoothly and when it did not I was the one that got in trouble for it. Staffing a RT is a very tiring but rewarding experience. We are up at 0415 and do not get to bed until 0030 sometimes later, after the first week it starts to show but as staff we can not show any sign of weakness what so ever. Although this is a very demanding training seeing your recruits graduate is worth everything you had to put up with during the training. I would recommend this to anyone that has the opportunity to do it.

Training
Location : belle glade FL
Date Attended : 06/13/2010
Duration of Training: : 2 Weeks
Would you Recommend?? : I would not recommend this training
Difficulty of Training : Super Easy
Comments : I wouldn’t recommend this training but you don’t have a choice. LOT of yelling and annoying staff cadets always in your face. Food was bad it came from the prison. and pt was easy.

Trainee : Robert McStravick
Name of Training : Recruit Training (Staff)
Training Location : Lake Worth, FL
Year of Training : Summer, 2009
Duration of Training : 2 weeks
Would recommend?? : yes
Overall Grade : A
Difficulty of Training : 4/5
Comments : This is a great learning experience for future leaders.  I was a company commander and had to get my company were they needed to be on time which is not an easy thing to do when there are 17 recruits who are at different ability levels than their shipmates. Preparing them and training them to become Sea Cadets is not the easiest job in the world, but it’s very rewarding to see them walk across that stage at graduation and know you were a part of developing that cadet into the person they will become.  We did not get much sleep usually 4 hours or less a night and we would have to get the recruits up and be at full alert ounce they were up until taps when we were aloud to relax a bit.  It was a challenging training, but I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to improve upon and develop their leadership skills.

Trainee : Lelei Pina
Name of Training : NSCC Recruit Training
Training Location : Lake Worth, FL
Year of Training : Summer, 2009
Duration of Training : 2 weeks
Would recommend?? : Yes
Overall Grade : A
Difficulty of Training : 3/5
Comments : Recruit Training was a challenge. You have to be able to adapt well to being screamed at by staff cadets and having long classes with a little amount of sleep. However, we did exciting things such as the zip-line and repelling tower, damage control training, and marksmanship. You definitely learn a sense of teamwork and you become close with your shipmates. It's very rewarding when you graduate boot camp.

Trainee : Devin Davis
Name of Training : NSCC Recruit Training Training
Location : Lake Worth, FL
Year of Training : Summer 2009
Duration of Training : 2  weeks
Would recommend?? : Yes
Overall Grade : A Difficulty of Training : 4/5
Comments : Boot camp was a big learning experience. It isn't easy but you learn to handle the stress of the staff in your your face all the time. The best part of Recruit Training is looking back at all the experiences that I had during the 2 weeks. We had fun things to do like marksmanship, damage control training, and we repelled down a three story wall. You also grow stronger mentally and physically throughout the 2 weeks. I would recommend Recruit Training to any recruit looking for a challenge.
